I am a senior Secondary Education/Mathematics double major at Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. I have a 3.9 cumulative GPA and will be eligible for my teaching certification upon graduation in May 2016. In my six semesters, I had a 4.0 for four semesters, and had above a 3.5 for two semesters.
Experience
I've been a math tutor since high school. I've tutored 6-8th grade math, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and AP BC Calculus. I am currently a math department tutor at my college. As a secondary education major, I have assisted in a 7th grade classroom, Algebra I, Algebra II, and AP BC Calculus classrooms and have taught math content in these areas. I have taken courses in secondary education methods, and also in teaching secondary math and curriculum. Outside of tutoring, I have also been a summer camp counselor for the past two summers. I directed a kayaking and canoeing program for girls ages 7-15. I love making learning fun, and used lots of games to teach safety and paddling skills. I want to be a tutor because I love helping students, and working with them one-on-one is beneficial for them, and rewarding for me. I am very passionate about math, however, it wasn't always my strongest subject. I've seen the impact that good teachers and tutors can have, and I want to be that for other students.

Hobbies
I am very outgoing and passionate about teaching math. In my spare time, I love reading (Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, and any type of mystery are some of my favorites). I also love musical theater, and have performed in many productions with singing, dancing, and leading roles. I also love playing volleyball and talking about the St. Louis Cardinals.
